History of the Company.

According to archive documents, the formation of the firm goes back to year 1630, when a factory for bell casting was founded. This factory belonged to a group of self-employed businessmen. In the 19th Century the Fischers became the owners of the Company. The last of the Fischers, Adolf Fischer, took advantage of the development of industry in the Trnava region and expanded the production of spare parts, mainly for the confectionery industry and for agricultural machinery.

The foundation of the firm was on 1.10.1963, when a machine and metallurgical plant was divided from the local county industrial plant Kovovýroba /Metal production/ in Trnava, and the national enterprise Šmeralove závody Brno established a branch plant in Trnava. The aim was set - to replace and ensure the production of forming equipment on the basis of ŠZ capacity released to ČKD Hronov.

The first name of the company was Šmeralove závody, Brno, n.p. /national enterprise/, Trnava plant. Its main production program was the manufacture of forming technology.

A machine plant was established by the division of small operations from local industry with the task to ensure the development and production of eccentric presses, accessories and spare parts. In the 90s the production of eccentric presses from 63 to 1000 kN represented 950 – 1000 pieces a year. At those times the Company had approximately 1000 employees. Production for export amounted to 48%.
